Description
Trying to do faces better. Looked at some of Suno's work for inspiration. Also had alot of feedback from Kay Allen and some others.Photoshop... about a week off and on. I think I've worked more on this than just about anything in recent memory..lol.

Work on construction and volume first, only then use color and detail.
Loomis, "Drawing head and hands". And probably brushing up on the more basic books would not hurt.

nice job on the hair on top, only work a bit more on the hairline - that is hard i know.
anyway, i'll stop here. these are the more visible problems i see. But it's certainly nice despite those.

"It looks very forced, like you're painting features without knowing why" He/she is being creative.
"Eyelids (you missed the bottom eyelids), the ears seem kind of flat and edgy if i can say so" It's an elf. The eyes are supposed to be stretched, and the ears are supposed to be pointy. It's an elf's face!
"The shading falls back to no-detail in many places (meck, cheeks near ears)"
It's representing the female form witch by its very nature is smooth and warm looking. How could he/she achieve this if it's choked with detail? You're supplying critiques without guidance.
" you had apparently made one ear the copy-pasted mirrored copy of the other (with some retouching on top), and the details are misplaced - especially the eyes and lips."
What? Did you stick your toungue out at the screen when you said this?
Providing critiques is fine it's what allows us to grow as artists, but don't tear something great to pieces.
Trust me Becca. You don't need to start out with basic books. You have some nice work here. You've captured the softness of an elfin female face very well. If you wanted to take it a step further, maybe some facial studies of Liv Tyler would be good. I always thought her face looked very soft angular like an elf.
